Luc De Jaeger > Live concert in open air of Diamanda Galás on a floating podium on the river "Leie" between the Graslei and the Korenlei. Her high pitched voice makes your flesh creep! Extremely weird and eccentric compositions! Her "Guilty Guilty Guilty" program about life and death brought a blend of blues and well-known songs like All The Way (Frank Sinatra), Heaven Have Mercy (Edith Piaf), Long Black Veil (Johnny Cash), Autumn Leaves (Frank Sinatra), Why Don't You Do Right (Peggy Lee, Aretha Franklin), Love Me or Leave Me, Time/Interlude (Timi Yuro) and Moi, Je M'Ennuie (Marlene Dietrich). It was a very strange and often hilarious experience because many listeners started laughing and shaking their head with her excuberant "music." Quite a lot of people could not stand her high pitched and loud voice so they walked away during the performance... It's mad music but the colorful lighting was just an experience worth looking at (with the hands on the ears as some people around me did). Shot with the Nikkor 18-200mm zoom lens. Luc De Jaeger > La Nouvelle Flibuste on the Graslei. They brought a musical show-piece on the go with drums, trombones, dance and a lot more. Their music is a blend of Caribbean and Haitin rhythms related to Cuban conga. Shot with the Nikkor 18-200mm zoom lens. No post processing at all.
Luc De Jaeger > The "Devils Manor", a ghost train in a ghost house. Impressive from the outside but according to the rumors not too impressive on the inside... Shot with the Nikkor 18-200mm zoom lens. No post processing at all.
Luc De Jaeger > The "Deca Dance", still one of the most popular attractions at all. If you need some speed and spinning around, just try this attraction... Shot with the Nikkor 18-200mm zoom lens. No post processing at all.
Luc De Jaeger > Image of a couple on the Polyp, kind of an Octopus with seats turning around and going up and down on music (from a soft Waltz to more popular up-beat music). It took me some hundreds of photos to get at least one keeper (the cars go so speedy and also move up and down so that you can't focus accurately and fast enough). The Polyp was a new attraction at the Halfvastenfoor (Mid Lent Fun Fair) in Ghent (Gent), Belgium. Shot with the Nikkor 18-200mm zoom lens. No post processing at all.
Luc De Jaeger > Evening shot of the Graslei (to the left) and St Michielsbrug (St Michael's Bridge near the Corn Market, Korenmarkt) in the city of Ghent, Belgium. It's a pity there is not that much Christmas lighting or atmosphere! Shot around Xmas 2006 with the Nikkor 18-200mm zoom lens. No post processing at all.
