Annual Halfvastenfoor / Mid Lent Fun Fair 2007 in Ghent (Gent), Belgium. For the first time since 3 years the fun fair (kermis or foor in Flemish) is again located near the centre of the city on the Sint Pietersplein in front of the Sint-Pietersbasiliek, the Sint Amandsplein and the Kramersplein. During three weeks (from March 10th - April 1st) more than 100,000 people visited more than 108 fun fair attractions. It was a big success and fun, FUN, F U N! It was the 510th edition making it the oldest outdoor event in Belgium.
All the images are shot with the Nikkor 18-200mm VRII lens. No post processing at all -- as usual. Please note that Original formats are disabled to protect my images from theft. To further protect my images they are watermarked. Watermarks will not appear on prints or gifts/merchandise you buy!
Image of a couple on the
Polyp, kind of an Octopus with seats turning around and going up and down on music (from a soft Waltz to more popular up-beat music). It took me some hundreds of photos to get at least one keeper (the cars go so speedy and also move up and down so that you can't focus accurately and fast enough). The Polyp was a new attraction at the Halfvastenfoor (Mid Lent Fun Fair) in Ghent (Gent), Belgium. Shot with the Nikkor 18-200mm zoom lens. No post processing at all.
